Meet our local guide at the tour starting point in Kandy and you will met many bends – some of them hairpin bends – as they go up the Kadugannawa incline.

Then you will find yourself cycling amidst the chilling scenic hill side with few of the birds can be seen and heard in the surrounding. As you are closer to your destination a couple of more mixed terrains will shake you a little from the monotonous route you were cycling on and a couple of slight ascends and descends will bring you to your destination, Kadugannawa.The most striking feature of the road itself is Kadugannawa tunnel.This tunnel has been a landmark for over 175 years. Until about 25 years ago, all motor traffic to and from Kandy went through this tunnel.Another symbol, in this case commemorating Captain William Dawson, who designed the road. you can see Balana For. which was less a fortress than a lookout point surveying the lowlands and the approaches to the highlands and Train museum.
