White water rafting is an exciting activity that you must try while on vacation in Sri Lanka. Take a rapid and test your adrenaline and feel the sensation of how the thrill of conquering the rapids of the river with family and your friends.

Most of rivers descend from Adam’s peak, Kithulgala too. A 2,243m mountain which is the mythological place where Adam set foot on earth. Kithulgala is perfect place to get your paddle wet for the first time; Kithulgala offers an unforgettable rafting trip with challenging rapids, stunning scenery and beauty. The river hosts rapids between grades 2 and 3, with the rafting stretch being approximately 6.5 kilometers, and taking between 1 to 2 hours to complete. With up to seven rapids to tackle, including the "Killer Fall" and "Rib Cage" and it chosen a location of film site of the railway in the 1957 Movie Bridge over the River Kwai. Behind you, mountains are covered in a mixture of thick rainforest and tea and rubber plantations provide a memorable trill.

Since the Kithulgala Forest Reserve being a secondary forest that is more open than the densely wooded Sinharaja, the endemic species like, Green-billed Coucal Orange-billed babbler and chestnut-backed owlet Sri Lanka Spurfowl and Spot-winged Thrush are spotted with lesser trouble.
